Does ClickUp work offline?
Short answer: a little. With no signal you can add new tasks and read ones you already opened. You cannot change anything until you are back online.
ClickUp’s own help article Offline Mode sets out what works. (Read on 6 November 2026.)
- You can add tasks. New tasks and reminders wait on your device and sync when you reconnect. Reminders cannot be made offline in the phone app.
- You cannot edit. In ClickUp’s words, “Tasks and notes cannot be edited while offline.” So no ticking off a job, changing a status or adding a note to one that already exists.
- You only see what you opened. Tasks you have already opened, plus tasks in your Tray, can be read. Anything else is not on the device.
- No subtasks. ClickUp suggests making ordinary tasks offline and turning them into subtasks once you are back online.
What that means at work
- Closing out a job on site. The task is there to read, but marking it done or writing what you found has to wait for a signal.
- Looking something up. A task nobody on that laptop opened before is not there when the signal drops.
- Remembering later. Notes made on paper or in a phone’s notes app get typed in at the end of the day, if someone remembers.
If your team is online all day, ClickUp is a strong tool and none of this matters. The gap is when the work itself happens where the signal drops: a farm, a basement, a site, a boat.
An app your team uses with no signal
Bionic Forms builds an app from a sentence or a spreadsheet. Our desktop app for Windows, macOS or Linux keeps a full, encrypted copy of the whole database on the computer. With no connection your team can add records, change old ones, search, attach photos and print, for as long as they like. When the computer finds a connection, changes go up and come down by themselves. If two people changed the same record while apart, both versions are kept and a person picks. Nothing is overwritten quietly.
Bringing your tasks across
Export your ClickUp list or Workspace to a CSV file. Drop the file in the box on our home page and every row comes back as a record, with a field for each column. Free covers unlimited apps and 10,000 entries per app. Business is $29 a month for the whole team, with unlimited users.
Where this is honest
- We are not a project manager. ClickUp does sprints, goals, docs, chat and time tracking. We keep records. If you need all of that, stay with ClickUp.
- No phone app yet. If your people only carry phones, AppSheet and Power Apps do more offline on a phone than we do.
- Building an app needs a connection. The AI that builds it runs on our server. Using it afterwards does not.
- We are small and pre-launch. We say plainly which parts are not finished, and your data can always be exported again.
Build it now. Say what your team tracks, and we build that app for you to try.
About 25 seconds. No signup to see the result.
