Does Zoho Creator work offline?

Short answer: yes, but only in the phone and tablet apps. On a computer, in the browser, it needs a connection.

Zoho’s help article Understanding offline access says offline works “only in the Creator mobile application on iPhone, Android, and tablets.” The app maker has to switch it on for each form and each report. (Read on 5 November 2026.)

The same article lists the limits. A report you take offline can only be looked at: editing, deleting, duplicating and printing are off. Offline copies refresh once every 24 hours unless you sync by hand. On an iPhone the app has to be open for your entries to go up. Form actions that run before you submit, formula fields that depend on other fields, and integration fields do not work offline. And signing out of the app deletes everything cached on the phone, including entries that have not synced yet.

What that means at work

• You need to fix a record you saw in a report. With no signal you can read it, but you cannot change it.
• Someone signs out to hand the tablet to a colleague. Any entries that had not gone up yet are gone.
• The office laptop at a site with bad internet cannot use the app at all, because offline is phones and tablets only.

If your people work on phones and mostly add new entries, Zoho Creator’s offline forms do that job. The gap shows up on a computer, or when you need to look things up and change them with no signal.

An AI app builder that works offline on a computer

Where this is honest

• No phone app yet. If your people only carry phones, Zoho Creator does offline on a phone and we do not. So do AppSheet and Power Apps.
• Offline is the desktop app only. In a browser, ours needs a connection too.
• Building an app needs a connection. The AI that builds it runs on our server. Using it afterwards does not.
• We are small and pre-launch. We say plainly which parts are not finished, and your data can always be exported again.
